Clinic Day 2 of Week 2

Philippians 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Today we continued clinic at Pastor Pierre's church with follow ups from the 2016 and previous trips as well as continuations for stroke and pediatric patients. We were able reconnect with happy familiar faces, have deep spiritual conversations with our trusty sidekicks (our Haitian brothers who translate for us), and progress pt care. Each team member made an impact on the community today- from making others laugh, sitting and conversing as friends, accepting hugs and kisses, making a child smile, or fixing household appliances-all being used for God's glory.

A high point in the fun of our afternoon was bonding time with sweet friend and driver, Papa. Papa helped us to get sugar cane and learn the Proper and safe way to eat and enjoy the sugar cane. We love our time with Papa and will be very sad to leave Papa here and not taking him back home with us.

Today also included a Home visit for part of our team with giving home care, connecting with the community yet again in another personal aspect. We love getting to connect and show God's love in the home setting.

Another part of our group had the opportunity to visit and tour the Adventist hospital where we have had the opportunity to refer pt over the past couple years when they are not appropriate for therapy but needed a medical doctors care. On the way to the hospital Bev had the wonderful opportunity for her first Moto ride. DJ was able to make new missionary friends that will give them all an opportunity connect and recharge together. The group had the opportunity to connect with the on site rehab team as well as tour the Operating Room.

We had a wonderful visit with our friend Sabrina. Sabrina and her husband, Jude, are missionaries in another part of Haiti who we have had the opportunity to get to know over the past several trips. Sabrina was able to give us the wise words of, "you have to wake up each day, no matter where you are, with fresh eyes expecting God to move." These words were so good for our hearts.

Today was a good day full of helping others, healing relationships within our community and trusting God for our guidance and peace. God has shown us over and over today and through this trip that He has total control. Over and over this trip God is reminding us to "not be anxious in anything...but in all things present your request to God." God has Huge plans for this community and country and we have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of His glorious and divine plans!
