Oi!

We have had an exciting and busy week! We are loving our time here in Brazil with our new friends. We have spent a lot of time out in the villages evangelizing, time spent on the boat treating patients, painting houses, and playing lots of soccer. The Lord is truly moving here on the Amazon and we are savoring every moment we have with these people. We have seen several people come to Christ and want to be discipled, we have prayed for many and we have been blessed by them. Please continue to pray for team’s safety and for the Holy Spirit to continue to move among us and in the people in the villages of the Amazon.

Mid-week Update

We heard briefly from the team, and they are alive a well! They sent these pictures for everyone to see what they are doing. Continue to pray for them as they use the tool of Physical Therapy to minister and share the Good News of Jesus this week in Brazil.

Day 1

We got off the plane and were warmly greeted with our IsleGo partners Daniel and Danny! We were tired, smelly, and worn out from almost 24 hours of traveling but seeing their bright and excited faces gave us all a burst of energy.  Praise the Lord all of our luggage made it safe and sound. We had the opportunity to explore Manaus and we all ate some street food for lunch! We were able to go to a hotel to shower and take a nap. Later in the day we went to a church service in Manaus and then were off to go to our boat home for the week on the Amazon river. When we arrived on the boat we had a fantastic Brazilian dinner and then had a meeting detailing where will be going and what we will doing throughout the week. We also prayed over our trip with our whole crew. We are trusting and believing that God is going to do amazing things in and through us and we are excited for the week ahead!

And They're Off!

The 2023 Spring Break SBU DPT Brazil team is off! We got word that they have made it safely to Manaus, Brazil this morning (Sunday). The team will board the medical boat this evening and start making their way along the Amazon tributary for the week of service to the people living along the river.
