Hola from Peru!

Today was our first day in the clinic working with the people of Huyro. When we arrived at the clinic there was a long line of people waiting to receive our services. We opened the day with prayer and song with the patients. We sang Alabare Alabare, a common Peruvian hymn. Many locals in Huayapata speak Quechua which made translation a challenge. For a lot of patients translations went from English to Spanish to Quechua. Despite this obstacle we know that the Holy Spirit was at work to allow us to connect with all those we encountered. The municipality came to the clinic to give us a toast with Inca Cola. As students we all feel like we learned so much and it's only been one day! We are so thankful that God has blessed us with this time and we love meeting the Peruvian people. We look forward to another great day tomorrow!
